Instrument Proficiency Check
Tex Air America’s instrument proficiency checks are geared toward regaining/increasing proficiency and increasing the comfort level of our students. Our instruction is focused on safety and compliance with the IMC environment. We follow the scope and guidance of FAR Para.61.57(d). At Tex Air America we believe an Instrument Rating is a must for pilot safety. IFR capabilities are perishable skills. Many pilots don’t realize how much they’ve forgotten until they are “making holes in the clouds.” Our flight and ground training are tailored to each student's individual needs to help them identify and overcome weaknesses and regain critical lost knowledge and skills.
Two 3 hour lesson consists of a combination of ground school and flights reviewing charts, regulations, and weather and more. Flights focus on 6 approaches, holdings, tracking radials, plus real flight plannings and ATC interaction.
